The Band
About the Band
"Originally from England, now a fine import" Powerfull female fronted 70's style rock and blues. Laura is a singer songwriter living and playing gigs in Los Angeles California. Her influences are blues, rock, old R&B, soul, jazz and funk. "Actually, pretty much anything that inspires".

Laura Duncan
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Laura Duncan started her musical career at age 12 in Leicestershire, England. She saw an amazing guitarist on TV and found rock inspiration. She immediately strung elastic bands on a shoebox and began strumming. After a frustrating few days, she got her first guitar.

Laura's was exposed to a wide variety of music growing up, but her primary influences ranged from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Bad Company and The Black Crowes to Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Rod Stewart and Cat Stevens.

By 17, she had incorporated this diversity into her own development as a blues-based guitarist and played her first live shows in England. At 19, Laura moved to Florida where she quickly joined an acoustic pop/rock band called Liquid Sol as the lead guitarist. She then discovered what would prove to be another major inspiration, singer Susan Tedeschi.

As Laura grew as a songwriter, she formed a new band, Sugar Glider, to focus on playing and singing her own material. After three years performing throughout Florida, she moved to Los Angeles.

Laura spent the next year returning to her roots, honing her sound and writing all new songs. She added a drummer, keyboardist and bassist and recorded her first 4 song EP as The Laura Duncan Band.

She is currently working on her first full album and can be seen playing live throughout Los Angeles and beyond. Her music reflects her deep Blues/Rock influences but with soulful melodies and a powerful voice that is truly her own.

Mike Lindsey
Bass player---"I'm originally from Kansas City, Missouri, but now split my time between Los Angeles and the Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley area. During the course of my schizophrenic musical exploits, I have performed or jammed with these fine people: Chris Pitman(Lusk, keyboards for Guns n'Roses), Danny Carey(drums, Tool), Marty Willson-Piper(guitarist for Australian band, The Church), Donnette Thayer and Hex(originally a side project between Thayer and Church bassist Steve Kilbey), Patti Hood(rock/folk/Celtic string harpist, Hex, Lusk, sessions for Yes' Jon Anderson, Marty Willson-Piper, G n'R, Robin Danar, and others), Kinks-like power poppers The Leopards, folk/roots/country icon Iris Dement, the Matt Treiber Group, Kansas City blues harp legend John Paul Drumm, Ala Sharon Mandelbaum(Catherines, Dutch goth band Boudoir), and way back in the day, current Arizona blues harp master Bob Coratore and noted session guitarist Steve McCabe.

Besides playing bass and guitar, I've spent plenty of time behind a mixing board as well, doing mobile sound in several Kansas City/Lawrence, KS. clubs such as Davey's Uptown Ramblers, Harling's, and The Crossing, and guesting at the Bottleneck and the Roger Naber-era Grand Emporium(primarily with the infamous Canned Heat-meets-Motorhead roar of the Sin City Disciples). Presently, daytime hours will find me doing all sorts of things at the massive temple of audio and pop culture, Amoeba Music, on Sunset in Hollywood. Believe it..."
